SHELTERS

Destruction of a migrant squat at the Port of Calais

On November 5, 2009, at 6 am, the last squat in the center, at Hangar Paul Devot opposite the Port of Calais, was surrounded by the police. Migrants are extracted from their shelters and arrested. They cannot take any clothing, personal item, official paper or regularization file. The shelters are returned and destroyed in minutes by cleaning services. Photographs taken before and after the intervention of the police.
